About Kenai Outfitters
Lee Young’s Kenai Outfitters is a family-run business located in Soldotna, Alaska. There are many things that contribute to having a very successful guide business, but we believe number one is our great family. My beautiful wife Lori, children Carissa, Kaitlyn and Colton are the key ingredients to our success. From washing boats to performing many other needed tasks makes our guide business a team effort.
In addition to a great family, our boats are the top of the line and spotless. We take great pride in having the finest equipment and gear available. Gloomis fishing rods, Shimano fishing reels and Willie Boats are just a few examples of using the industries finest.
In regard to fishing skill, Lee Young grew up in Southwest Washington State with numerous steelhead and salmon streams in his backyard. He started seriously fishing for salmon and steelhead in the 2nd grade and by the time he was 15 years old he owned his own drift boat. He began guiding in Washington State on the Kalama River and the Klickitat River. Now at age 47, Lee has been guiding on the Kenai Peninsula for the past 12 years. His specialty is guiding on the rivers for salmon and catching big Kings!
Somewhere along the way Lee found time to earn a bachelors and masters degree in school administration. During the winter while the rivers of Alaska are frozen Lee is a local public school principal. Our great family and teaching background makes Kenai Outfitters a great choice if you're interested in learning about fishing or just looking for a guide who has patience and enjoys working with people of various skill levels or ages. You can be assured of having a professional guide, best equipment, highest opportunity for success and a guide who enjoys giving the extra effort to make your trip… the trip of a lifetime!
